Views from Smoke Rise: Winter '00/'01

Winter exposes the rocky foundations of our community.
We've had some beautiful clear Winter days already.

 We went on a hike 12/3/00 led by the Smoke Rise Trail Committee. It was wonderful. We met a host of wonderful folks from our community.

We had to turn back early, as did Morris, Richard and two others (sorry I've forgotten your names!)

It was really a super time. I am looking
forward to it again. The area around
Split Rock Resevoir is pristine.

 And we couldn't forget to include Maria's new Jeep Cherokee Sport. She really does like it. It's my incessant picture taking that is unnerving. ;-)

Daimler-Chrysler will only make this style body for one more year, then it will be much rounder, like the Grand Cherokee. I love the classic lines of this one. I think it looks like a little army truck.

 OK, yes this is a bit freaky/geeky, but I can't help myself.

Note the unapologetic manliness of that solid axle, single swing-arm, MacPherson strut suspension.

Yeah, baby, yeah!
