Prior to having our last HAPS home vist,
Paul took a little siesta.

The home visit went well, so we have
not further obligations to the State
for his international adoption.

We do still have more work in front of us regarding his New Jersey State Re-Adoption. We have filed all the necessary legal documents and are waiting for a court date. This should only require one court appearance, after which we are issued a NJ birth certificate with Paul's new name on it with no mention of adoption whatsoever. That will be the last adoption-related work required of us.

Sunday morning finds us up and hiking at
Split Rock Resevoir. This baby backpack is awesome! When we last tried it Paul couldn't yet really hold his head up well, but now he loves it.

After going home and cleaning up, we headed to Closter, NJ to visit Mohamed and Jim. Their house has really come along. Now the landscaping from last year has really grown in fully and the kitchen, dining room and basement are almost finished. The place is fabulous.

Here's Paul checking out "Uncle Mo'".

As difficult as it is getting a picture of Jim,
I did catch him with both Mo' and Paul.

Paul's first pool dip!

I didn't get any shots of Maria dunking him, but we did try the trick of blowing in his face to make him hold his breath and then making a quick head-under dunk. He didn't cry once! I'm not sure how he felt about the whole thing, but he seemed to accomodate.

This shot gives some idea of the backyard. There's another sitting area to the right of the one shown (across the pool) and the deck is enormous.

Paul had a lot of activity, between the pool and seeing all the other kids. He was very interested in all the events of the afternoon.

Jim and Mohamed are super guys. We hope to spend more time with them this Summer.

Geek-Speak Alert!

For my first Father's Day, Maria got me this Wireless Access Point. It is also a Cable Modem/DSL Router and firewall. It also has 4 10/100 ethernet full-duplex switch ports!

Combined with this wireless network card, I can now roam anywhere in the house or in the front or backyard and still be on the network and consequently have Internet access! I have done most of the editing for the last three sections of this site from my laptop while in the family room in my recliner, at the counter in the kitchen or outside on the patio! Very cool. How did she get so smart?

So, we had a fun weekend with Paul and friends. We couldn't ask for more.
