Paul and Maria with the Rhodo'.

Some of this section includes the famous Rhododendron, Paul at play, Grandpa visiting,  Paul's pool, the beach at Lake Kinnelon and Paul on his way to daycare.

I like this shot a lot.

I've always liked these plants with their
big fluffy tissue paper blossoms.

I never get tired of looking at them...

...or photographing them!.

Our rose bushes were pretty sad this year. This is one of the few blooms we got. Maria pruned them quite a bit, so hopefully next year we will have more.

The swing doesn't work terribly well
on the little tree. We will definitely
need something bigger and better.

Paul now reads a lot. He loves to sit in Mommy's (or Daddy's) lap and read together.

More kid furniture we picked up
at a yard sale. I love it.

Here's Dad over for a visit. That's some sort of Dogwood tree behind him.

The yard is great for Paul with its endless
variety of things to see and do.

Sort-of a pose?

"The Great Maestro"

"Wow, Mommy's in the video camera AND she's standing there in front of me. How cool is that?"

This is Paul's sulking look. We wouldn't let him play on the exposed step (on which he is seated in this shot), but like any good toddler,
he is testing the limits.

I have since relocated the gate I made. It now comes down over the first step. It was just too tempting for him to climb up there and fall on the hard entryway.

Here's Maria breaking in Paul's pool.

Even with the temperatures well into the 90's, we found that the pool was most comfortable when filled with warm water.

OK, now it's "boys swim".

"Tastes like chicken."

Here's Mommy teaching the duckling
how to swim down the slide.

Here we are at Lake Kinnelon.

Paul was not very sure
about the water in general.

I can't express the excitement at
seeing Paul actually shovel sand.

Amazing.

Here's the boat, making a return engagement at Lake Kinnelon. Even though we are now in Denville, it's easy to load up everything in the truck and head to the lake. It's actually easier than when the boat was docked there.

Here's a typical Summer morning.

Paul has had breakfast and got dressed.

And he's ready for action.

I think daycare has been a great thing for Paul. I was never a fan of daycare until now. I see kids who don't spend much time with others and I appreciate the socialization that Paul has received.

June is my favorite month for weather. Shorts are the best!
